QL routine is used for performing UV calibrations on the Brewer Spectrometer. It is a test command that results in a UV scan being performed with a Lamp (rather than the sky) being the source of radiation.
The zenith prism is rotated to the UV dome, FW#2 is set to the “uv FW#2 Pos” recorded in the instrument constants file, FW#1 is set to the 3 position, the iris is opened, and the tracker is rotated to the sun (if the tracker is left powered during the test).
The operator is asked for lamp number, and lamp-diffuser separation (ECCC's Default setup uses 40cm), and the radiation intensity is measured in 1.5nm increments over the UVB range.
Data is stored in a QLJJJYY.nnn file.
For more information, please refer to the UV SOP.
Note: Before using this section, please go through and understand how to perform the UV calibration via the UV SOP
